SchoolSuccess and Pearson Early Learning Launch Work Sampling OnlineBOSTON, MA (May 3, 2002) - Pearson Education's SchoolSuccess, in collaboration with Pearson Early Learning Group, announces its latest product: Work Sampling Online (WSO). WSO, an Internet- and research-based instructional assessment, reporting and aggregation system, is an easy-to-use tool that allows early childhood teachers and administrators to spend more time interacting with their students and running quality programs, and less time writing and generating reports.WSO provides practical information for teachers as well as comprehensive data for administrators. This system guides a teacher through the process of documenting and evaluating a child's progress against standards for a specific age group. Once this data is entered, the customization engine then produces individualized reports on each child and generates group summaries. WSO enables administrators to identify a program's strengths and weaknesses by providing comprehensive aggregated outcomes reports as well as summaries that give overall progress updates from multiple vantage points. SchoolSuccess offers a suite of online products that connect assessment, curriculum, planning and reporting for the pre-K-2 market based on the work of the three leaders in early childhood curriculum. WSO is based on the offline Work Sampling System, which was researched and developed by Dr. Samuel Meisels and his authorship team for Pearson Early Learning. SchoolSuccess' other products include CreativeCurriculum.net, the online assessment system based on the Creative Curriculum Development Continuum, the online version of the High/Scope Child Observation Record (COR), and Earlylearner.net, a powerful technology platform that can be customized for any curriculum and assessment system used by a childcare or school-based program. SchoolSuccess' products are currently used in nearly 400 preschool programs across the country including Bright Horizons, the leader in corporate child care solutions; the United States Air Force, Brockton Public Schools, and Head Start programs in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Indiana, New York, Arizona, and California.
